Larevio vs Google Calendar
Google Calendar already gives your household a shared calendar, reminders and a Family group. Larevio is not a replacement for it, it is what sits in front of it: turning the messages that create the appointments into something you check before it lands there.
Larevio
A household calendar with every child in their own colour, tasks and lists included.
Google Calendar
A calendar called Family is created when you set up a family on Google, and everyone in the family can change its events.

Larevio
Forward any email, or allow senders in Outlook. Lare proposes an event, task or list item and waits for your approval.
Google Calendar
Gmail adds events to your calendar from emails about flight, train and bus reservations, hotel and restaurant reservations, and events you get a registration confirmation or ticket for, such as movies, shows and medical events. Google's page does not describe a step where you approve each one first. In the European Economic Area, this is off by default.

Larevio
A photo of a form, a scanned document, or a voice note to Lare all become a checkable item.
Google Calendar
Gemini, Google's assistant, can add an event when you ask it to, for example from a photo of a concert flyer or event details you paste in. You need to be signed in to the Gemini app with Keep Activity on, and afterwards you can undo it from the confirmation or edit the event.

Larevio
Children get their own profile and colour, carried across events, tasks and lists; no separate sign-in needed.
Google Calendar
The Family calendar is for people who join your family on Google, and they find it when they are signed in to Google Calendar.

Google calendars connect both ways. Microsoft calendars connect for personal accounts, with new events saved there automatically; Apple Calendar connects as a read-only link.
Google Calendar
On a computer, you can subscribe to another person's Google calendar once they share it, or add a public calendar from its link.

Google Calendar is an excellent calendar, and Larevio is not trying to be a second one. The difference sits upstream of the calendar: in how the appointment gets there in the first place, and whether you get to check it before it does.
Common questions
Do I need to stop using Google Calendar?
No. Larevio connects to your Google Calendar; events already there come in as they are, and anything you approve through Lare can be saved back to it too.
Doesn't Gmail already do this with flights and reservations?
For some emails, yes. Google's page lists travel, hotel and restaurant reservations, and events you get a registration confirmation or ticket for, and says they are added to your calendar and that you can delete one you do not want. In the European Economic Area this is off by default. Larevio works from any email you forward, including a school newsletter with no booking or ticket in it, as well as a photo of a form or a voice note after pickup. It proposes tasks and list items as well as events, and nothing is added until you review it.
